GBV S.O.S.

We conceptualized, designed, developed, and are currently executing a multimedia campaign aimed at combating gender-based violence for the Community Center of the Municipality of Kifissia.

Because speaking up is always the right choice.

Gender-based violence (GBV) remains a deeply ingrained issue in Greek society. To address this critical concern, the Community Center of the Municipality of Kifissia entrusted us to conceptualize, design, develop, and execute a multimedia campaign aimed at raising awareness and fostering action against GBV.

Campaign Goals

The campaign sets out to:

  • Educate the community about the diverse forms of GBV (verbal, physical, psychological, etc.).

  • Provide information on support networks and how to handle incidents for victims and their families.

  • Encourage incident reporting and access to help through the Community Center and related institutions.

  • Promote equality and respectful relationships via digital infrastructures and modern technologies, emphasizing support for victims and their families.

A Phased Approach

Given the complexity and significance of the issue, we’ve divided the project into three key phases:

Phase 1: Research and Foundations

  • Conducted a thorough review of information and current research on GBV, with a focus on empowering bystanders to intervene.

  • Developed an extensive manual containing action scenarios and a digital support protocol for both victims and bystanders, accessible 24/7 on the Community Center’s website.

  • Established a Help Line, operating weekdays from 8 am to 5 pm, where individuals can anonymously report cases, seek assistance, or gain information from trained experts.

Phase 2: Awareness and Outreach

  • Designed a brochure with essential information for victims and bystanders, to be distributed in high-traffic areas, local businesses, and all Municipality buildings.

  • Planned public awareness actions, including street work in key locations where citizens will receive one-on-one information from Community Center representatives. QR codes on distributed leaflets will offer direct access to the website.

  • Organized an anonymous Q&A session, enabling citizens to submit questions, which will be answered on the Municipality’s website to enhance the reach and impact of the campaign.

Phase 3: Implementation and Advocacy

As the campaign progresses, subsequent actions will focus on sustaining engagement and promoting long-term change, integrating ongoing feedback from the community.

Current Status

We are currently in Phase 2, laying the groundwork for this transformative effort. Stay tuned for updates as we continue working to educate, support, and empower to stand against GBV.
