Follow the Sun Lines
A multi-awarded project that delves into the relationship between the city and the individual, brought to life through the triptych: “Connectivity – Interaction – Experience”
Multifunctional street furniture for the urban environment of tomorrow, today.
This project stands out in many ways, but its most striking feature is its conceptual approach to imagining the smart cities of tomorrow. It focuses on designing solutions that prioritize the community because, at its heart, we want cities designed for people!
Inspired by Athens’ 300 days of sunshine each year, we turned to the fiery ball in the sky as the muse for our conceptual design. The result? A series of multipurpose urban furniture for the future, emphasizing technological, ecological, smart, and integrated urban living.
The Core Idea
Beautiful in its simplicity, these high-tech public benches harness solar energy to meet the needs of modern city dwellers constantly on the move. Equipped with:
Speed-charging spots
Wi-Fi access
Multi-use surfaces for sitting, resting, and more
Weather condition monitoring
Emergency buttons
A range of additional smart features
Minimalist, Eco-Friendly Design
With a minimalist and subtractive design, these benches are visually unobtrusive and blend seamlessly into their environment. Customizable colors in the building materials further integrate them into any urban setting.
This project, a vision of smart connectivity and community-first design, has been recognized with European and Greek awards. It’s a “Famous for a reason” initiative that showcases what’s possible when technology and design come together to enhance urban living.
